“Respecting Choices”: An Evidence-based Advance Care Planning Program

The Campaign to END Unwanted Medical Treatment hosted Dr. Hammes for a presentation on the extraordinary success in advanced care planning through the “Respecting Choices” program at Gundersen Health System. This work has resulted in two internationally recognized programs on advance care planning. As of 2011, “Respecting Choices” was implemented by more than 60 organizations in the United States; is being implemented nationally in Australia and Singapore; and is being tested in Germany, Spain and Canada.
